Scottish Enterprise visit during Scottish Apprentice Week celebration.

Vector Photonics welcomed Scottish Enterprise’s Kerry Sharp, Director of Entrepreneurship and Investment, and Claire Partridge, Account Manager, to its Glasgow site. Kerry and Claire had a tour of the development labs and met the team behind commercialising Surface Coupling Lasers and PCSELs. Their visit coincided with Scottish Apprenticeship Week, where apprentices are celebrated nationwide.

Neil Martin, CEO, used the occasion to recognise Darren Blair, Graduate Apprentice in Engineering at Vector Photonics, for his Deputy Principal’s Award from Heriot Watt University – for apprentices demonstrating academic excellence.

Vector Photonics has long been a supporter of apprentice training in photonics. It encourages the widest pool of available talent and promotes work-based learning, including developing hands-on, leadership and management skills.
