Neil Martin, CEO of Vector Photonics, will be a guest panellist at the ‘Opening up Photonics’ initiative at the SPIE Photonex Exhibition and Conference, held in Glasgow at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) on 29th and 30th September. SPIE Photonex is the premier, UK photonics event. It brings the entire supply chain together, showcasing the latest developments in photonics, bio-photonics, quantum technologies, lasers, optical technologies, materials analysis and nanotechnology.
The ‘Opening up Photonics’ initiative is a special event within the exhibition’s conference programme, set up to discuss the challenges and barriers faced by minority groups in the photonics industry. It will be chaired by Alison McLure, Head of the Institute of Physics (IoP) in Scotland, responsible for the advancement of physics education, research and application.
Neil Martin explained, “It is an honour to be a panellist at the launch of the Opening up Photonics initiative. As CEO of Vector Photonics, and previously CST Global, I have seen first-hand that attracting and keeping the best talent is critical to success as a business and an industry. Driving accessibility and championing diversity will remove barriers and contribute to accelerating growth and developing new talent.”
