Vector Photonics Welcomes Key Strategic Team Expansion

Vector Photonics is excited to announce a vital expansion of our strategic team, welcoming three highly experienced professionals as we accelerate our business development: Iain Madden (Test Principal Engineer), Shona Paterson (Admin, Quality and H&S), and Graham Goldberg (Finance and Photonics Project Lead).
Their immediate focus on financial planning, Quality Management System (QMS) development, and essential quality documentation provides the robust infrastructure needed to support Vector Photonics’ ambitious growth and future success.

Iain Madden: Test Principal Engineer
Iain is a highly skilled Optical Test Engineer with extensive experience in the testing and characterisation of semiconductor optical amplifiers and lasers, honed through key roles at leading companies.
As Test Principal Engineer, Iain oversees all product test systems and is developing semi-automated testing protocols to drive efficiency. Utilising LabVIEW, he is refining data analysis tools to enhance our processes. Crucially, Iain is also working to establish our formalised Quality Management System (QMS), a fundamental step for scaling our operations and ensuring the highest standards for all product lines.

Shona Paterson: Admin, Quality and H&S
Shona brings over 35 years of exceptional experience encompassing Administration, Finance, and Health & Safety, including finance roles and years as an Executive Assistant. She holds HNCs in Business Administration and Accounts, alongside IOSH and COSHH certifications.
With her comprehensive expertise, Shona is building the foundational structure for our business-critical knowledge. She is currently establishing the central repository for all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and company policies, ensuring we meet essential quality and safety standards as Vector continues to grow.

Graham Goldberg: Finance and Photonics Project Lead
Graham serves as our Finance and Photonics Project Lead, uniquely bridging complex engineering and financial worlds. With a PhD from the University of Glasgow in semiconductor technology and strong financial acumen from firms including the Big Four, he brings a distinct perspective.
Graham specialises in optimising processes and overseeing crucial financial functions like grant writing, R&D tax credit liaison, and Board-level reporting. He has already made a significant financial contribution and is leading our financial planning and grant application strategy, key to unlocking our next phase of photonic innovation.

We would like to thank Mr Andrew Stark (starkimages63@gmail.com) for doing the headshots.
